Holders England will find out their group stage opponents for the 2025 Women's European Championships when the draw is made in Switzerland on 16 December.
Following the recent play-offs for the final places in the tournament, where Wales secured their spot but both Scotland and Northern Ireland missed out, the 16 teams have been divided into four pots, based on rankings from the qualification stage.
That means England, despite going into the tournament looking to defend the trophy so gloriously won at Wembley in 2022, are only in Pot 2 and will have to face one of Switzerland (the hosts), Spain, Germany or France in their group.
Sarina Wiegman's team ended 2024 with a narrow win against the Swiss at Bramall Lane, Manchester United's Grace Clinton netting the only goal and pushing the midfielder's claims for a starting position as England build up to the Euros, preparation that will include a tough set of Nations League fixtures against world champions Spain as well as Portugal and Belgium.
Wiegman, a seasoned tournament operator who has been in charge of the last two Euros-winning sides, has used the recent set of friendlies to look at a host of options and will have next July firmly in her mind to bring England to the boil at just the right time.
