Harry Kane took just 45 minutes of Friday evening's World Cup qualifier against Albania to add three more to his England goal tally, a first-half hat-trick from the Three Lions skipper delighting another big Wembley crowd.
Any lingering disappointment from last month's draw against Hungary was blown away inside the opening few minutes as Harry Maguire opened the scoring and England delivered on Gareth Southgate's wish for a more aggressive display.
Jordan Henderson laid the second goal on a plate for Kane before putting the home side three-up, Kane then adding two more, the second from a lightning scissor-kick to make it 5-0 when the referee put the Albanian's out of their misery temporarily.
As well as the nature of the performance, what will surely have delighted Southgate was that those players who have served him so well over the years but whose club season's have been mixed to say the least, Kane, Maguire and the always-lively Raheem Sterling, had such a prominent part to play.
