England's next Nations League assignment, Tuesday's home game against Finland at Wembley, may have been something of a low-key affair were it not for the game also set to mark Harry Kane's 100th appearance for his country.
The 31-year-old joins nine other players in making a century of his appearances for the national team and believes he can go on for many years to come.
"I feel in really good shape, both physically and mentally, at a peak in my career," he told the media on Monday, ahead of Lee Carsley's first home game as interim head coach, a position he moved closer to securing on a permanent basis with Saturday's comfortable victory against the Republic of Ireland.
Kane came close to adding to his 66 England goals in that game and will fancy his chances of marking his special night with a goal against the Finns, beaten 3-0 in Greece in their Nations League opener.
As Wembley also pays tributes to Sven Goran Eriksson, memories will turn to the last meeting between the two sides, a crucial 2-1 win at Anfield in qualifying for the 2002 World Cup, England's first competitive match under Eriksson's charge.
